To kegel or not to kegel...

Ke

That is the question. So, why do I feel worse doing kegels? Anyone else? I know I'm working the right muscles because I can feel it when I insert a finger and I checked by trying to stop my flow of urine just a couple times as they say it's not good to do. So I know I'm using the right muscles(they're so weak, however). But when I start doing them consistently I get horrible urinary retention!?!?! I haven't done them for 3 days and I'm urinating normally. I was doing them for horrible incontinence and prolapse, so now idk what else to do. My doctor just said to keep it up as I'm still healing, but I'm preferring other pelvic floor exercises as opposed to kegels. Just looking to see if anyone has noticed the same. This postpartum crap has been a pain in my ass!
