Pregnancy After C-Section

Lindsey

I had my first daughter in March 2017 via an emergency c-section. I just found out I am pregnant with our second last week. Anything different I should prepare myself with after having a c-section? The birth will be a c-section per doctors orders based on the first but wasn’t sure if anyone experienced different feelings around scar, etc.

Round ligament pain will start early. I’m pregnant with baby number 3, first one was born via c section March 13, 2017. Had another c section 9/2/18 and will be having this one via c section 12/2019. Your body will ache and things will stretch, pains will be weird. All normal most of the time.

Yes Lindsey, mine started almost instantly. I was working out and noticed it, that made me test. I checked with my doctor and he said it’s all normal.

I was wondering. I have been a lot more crampier now than the first one. I figured some scare tissue etc

And recovery is easier and quicker.

I just had a csection March 13 (son was March 2 2017) . I feel like the recovery has been easier for me this time. I only needed Motrin for pain. I was very very careful and babied myself the first 4 weeks. I was lucky to have my husband off work so I did not lift anything except my newborn for the first 4 weeks. I think that helped tremendously to not overdo it. I have 2 friends that ended up reopening their incision from picking up their toddlers. I still have some numbness and tenderness of the skin above the incision. I had that for several months last time also

I had my first son March 10th 2017 and had my second December 17th 2018. I had c-sections with both my first was a t shaped incision and the second was a normal. My second birth recovery was a lot worse than my first I felt everything and I feel like it was worse because I had another child to take care of so I couldn’t rest as much this time around.

Yeah a toddler isn’t going to understand why I can’t pick her up.

I had a c section in March of 2017 and just had my second in April. The recovery was much easier this time around. I didn’t have any issues during pregnancy or recovery related to the first incision. Congratulations!

Great to hear! I am still nervous based on how my first went but that wasn’t planned so a scheduled one will be way easier. I am struggling with the thought of choosing my baby’s birthday though.

Congrats! I had my daughter March 2017 and I'm 22 weeks pregnant now. I'll be having another c-section. I havent noticed any changes with my scar or pain or anything like that. I have heard some women notice discomfort around that area. This is my 3rd pregnancy and 3 rd c- section. I never had any issues with it.

Yeah I am sad I’ll never deliver naturally but ready for a scheduled non emergency c section.

As far as another c section, it's definitely way better when it's not an emergency. Though it was always a dream to deliever my babies natural, they surgeries have not been terrible!

After my second c section I felt like the incision was tighter and I definitely had more of a “shelf” above the incision. I don’t know if that is more typical of a second. Made me very self conscious. The prep before surgery they have more time to sterilize you, and that process takes a good hour. I had a good first and second recovery with my c sections, but I heal pretty quickly. The numbness and tingling didn’t last as long.

Oh boy I already have a shelf after the first haha. And the numbness never went away haha! I am happy this one will be way more sterile and easier all around. I ended up getting an infection due to the circumstances with my daughter getting stuck. Still traumatized thinking about it.

Congrats! I had my son via c section March 2017, and am scheduled for my second c section this coming Monday. I haven’t felt anything different throughout the pregnancy.... no pain, nothing different. Good luck!
