Paragard (copper IUD)

I had my IUD put in yesterday. I wanted to go hormone-free but I’m still nervous about how this one will affect my cycles while hoping for the best.

I’ve been cramping and “spotting” (it’s actually more like light bleeding) since about two hours after insertion. The doctor said it should stop in two weeks but I was hoping it wouldn’t go so long.

Insertion did hurt but it only lasts for a minute or two. They say if you’ve given birth it’s not so bad so I guess I’m lucky I’ve given birth.

Anyone have any experience with this IUD? What has it been like for you?
