Baby born at 22 weeks?

Could this be possible could they save the baby? I’m so worried about my baby as they had to stitch my cervix back together today

Viability is 24 weeks. Most hospitals won’t intervene before then. There have been cases where a baby’s survived at 22 weeks but the protocol for viability is still 24 weeks

It's happened. Babies have survived at 21w. But the chances aren't great I'm afraid. Every week baby stays inside the chances increase.

I am so sorry you are going through this. Usually don't consider a baby viable until 25-26 weeks, but I do believe there have been a couple of rare cases for a 21-22 week baby to have survived. Every day he/she stays in there is going to help!
Did they give you a steroid injection for their lungs? I would ask the doctor about that if they have not. I would also recommend putting yourself on strict bedrest if the doctors haven't already done so.

Theres been cases of babies living as soon as 23 weeks. Its possible they could survive earlier, but i havent personally heard of that.

I think it depends mostly on the weight of the baby and if you had steroid injections or not.  Good luck mama xx

There is a trending birth story under "hot" right now about a survivor born at 23 weeks. It is encouraging, but be warned that there are pictures and it is a little difficult to see the struggle. I have faith that they will grow up to be okay!
