Are you giving your baby solids at 4 or 6 months?

Her pediatrician said she wants to start at 4 but is that too early? I’ve always been told 6

I will introduce soft foods when my baby is ready.  They need to be holding their head up on their own and not pushing food out of their mouth.  So basically if I offer him baby food or a mashed food at 4 months and he immediately pushes it out with his tongue he isn’t ready for soft food yet.  I see this as a trial and error process.

People have always told me a mix of both ages, I think there will always be the debate of when to start. With my first I tried to give solids at 4 months but she wouldn't take to it and didn't start till nearly 6 months. I think I will try again at 4 months with this bub because he is such a hungry hungry hippo

My little man is 14 weeks and I have Started giving him baby porridge just a couple of spoonfuls once a day and he is loving it he is sleeping through the night now and is so happy when he eats Just do it when ever you feel ready 😀

With my first we started at 4 months but she still had the tongue thrust reflex so she was spitting it all right back out, unintentionally. That’s the main reason we’re waiting for the 6 month mark this time. No point in introducing something she physically can’t eat.

My doctor also wants to start at 4 months but I’m going to let baby decide when he’s ready. Be it 6 months or 8 months. He already watches us while we eat so I won’t be surprised if he’s ready for at least some solids by 6 months but I really don’t want to start at 4 months.
