Is this normal?

I'm currently 39 weeks pregnant. For the past few days I've been getting really sharp shooting pains down there, even in my bum. It cant be contractions if they only last a few seconds right? So what could it be? At my appt last week I was about 2cm dialted and 80 percent thinned out.. I'm a first time mother so I have no idea about anything 🙄🙄

I had the same stuff going on when I was pregnant and ended up having complications. Please trust your body and instinct!! If something feels off go get checked immediately and be sure they hook you up to the monitor and can see your contractions!! We ended up with an emergency section so please be safe!!

It could be lightning crotch! Which is actually a good thing believe it or not haha from memory my midwife said that it starts off by the baby slowly moving further down into the birthing canal in preparation for labour! The baby is in a weird position and could be putting a lot of pressure on your cerxiv OR on the nerves around your pelvis! Either way hopefully your little bundle of joy makes their grand entrance soon! Lightning Crotch was the worst!
