Dairy free milk alternatives

So my daughter can not digest milk anymore it seems like. She has been constipated and upset for weeks and weeks. We finally cut milk out completely and she pooped twice in one day!

So I’m looking for an alternative to whole cows milk. Her doctor said she needs to continue on whole milk because she needs to gain a little more weight I guess.

I bought this soy milk and hoping this is ok. She only has about 16 oz a day so two cups. This was the only thing I could find with omega 3s, protein, vitamins and no sugar added.

If your kid is dairy free what do they drink instead of cows milk?

My son (and me too) LOVE oat milk.

We used Ripple milk, they have it at target. We got the unsweetened Vanilla. It is made of pea protein and is closest to whole milk in fat and has more protein.

There is a lot info out there about dairy. Basically, dairy is not good for humans. Intolerance, inflamation, phlegm, hormones...etc. Plus it takes way better. 😌

Oat and flax. You can use Soy but get the organic kind. I stopped using Soy a year ago, just because I keep reading mixed things about it.

We have done hemp milk since 9 months and it has the greatest health benefits of all the alternatives. A bit pricey but I can usually find tempt on sale and it’s shelf stable until open which is awesome. My boys not a chocolate fan but they have chocolate and vanilla on top of the regular kind. It also mixes well with the flavor of nutritional yeast for cheesy alternatives.

We’ve tried Trader Joe’s Almond milk, Oatly oat milk and Ripple pea milk. A little while ago we found out through an allergy test that my daughter has a mild dairy allergy so we’ve been trying dairy free alternatives. She was nursed until 16 months and after that drank almond milk and different brands of lactose free milk before we discovered her allergy. So far I like the nutrition facts of Ripple milk the best. Also I heard too much soy is not good for you so I try and avoid it all together when I can.

Silk protein milk! It’s an almond cashew blend with added pea protein. Comes unsweetened, vanilla, and chocolate! My daughter loves it and it’s a great protein boost, like 10g per serving I think
