Cheating on your loved one?

I've always felt like cheating is the worst thing you could possibly do in a relationship, this being said I've been cheated on a few times by ex's in my past, I've also unfortunately been the "other woman" which I regret. But do you feel like if you are going to cheat you should just dump the person you are with to avoid hurting them? Cause inevitably they will find out you cheated. Idk karma is a bitch.
