Potty training?

Question

Hi everyone. I have a 2.5 year old son who is still showing ZERO interest in potty training. 
Is this fairly normal?
How old are most boys when they start to show interest in potty training?
My husband and I just moved into a house that is ALL carpet so I have no idea how I'm suppose to even think about potty training when the carpet will soak up everything. Any tips/ideas?

Normal and probably not ready. Don’t feel pressured by his age. Some kids aren’t ready until they are older. My first wasn’t ready to be potty trained at 2.5 and waited until she was 3 and my other was ready at 2.5.

My son showed zero interest but at 2.5 we started letting him run around naked for a couple hours here and there and taught him about the potty. He didn’t have any accidents. Finally a week after his third birthday I could finally take a week off of work and train him. The first day he had a couple accidents and he’s been good since. That was a month ago. We still use diapers at night just in case but they are usually dry. I just stayed positive even during accidents and reassured him next time we could try again. When he was successful he got a piece of candy (his choice from a bowl). Worked like a charm. We have off white rugs so I just kept my rug shampooer and paper towels and cleaner handy the first day.

Normal, my son showed zero interest at 2.5.. a few months later, I noticed that his diaper was often dry where he was holding his pee for longer periods and then releasing it all at once and peeing through the pull up. So I decided to try potty training. We decided to remove all diapers and leave him bare bum for the first day but he really didn’t like that and kept trying to cover himself with his shirt and crying so the next day we put him in underwear. We bought a visual timer where he could see the amount of time left (like a time timer) and would put him on the potty every 15mins. Once he peed then we would put the timer to 1hr. My son truly was ready and picked it up quickly so not many accidents. If you start before they are ready then it’ll just take longer! Good luck!
