Question

My friend is due any day now and her 8 year old step child is not vaccinated (because of her biological moms views) She doesn’t really want her to be around the newborn. She’s not quite sure what to do. This biological mom is extremely stubborn (even went after the dad for MORE child support when she found out he was having another baby) so the dad doesn’t really have a say about the vaccinations.

I would have dad push and go to court if necessary to get that child vaccinated

Ask dad to take his daughter on outings rather than bring her to his house when the baby is born, just until baby starts getting vaccinated. It’s the best way to protect the baby, I think. The mother may not like it but her views are not your friend’s, and forcing her daughter on your friend while baby is vulnerable isn’t right (not in my opinion). If it creates too big a problem, and depending on how far you friend is willing to go, then she or the father can stay with a relative for a little while. The last isn’t ideal, I know, but whatever your friend feels is best for her baby.
