No sure or maybe I'm in denial

When My period came 10 days sooner than it was supposed to it threw me for a loop cuz I'm always regular. My body still looks like I'm pregnant even tho my child is almost one. I took a test after that early period but it was negative but people are telling me that I am. My aunt told me that with her pregnancies she was getting periods all the way up until delivery. Part of me wants to just accept that negative result and be in denial but part of me thinks I should go to the doctors and get confirmation. I just don't feel like i am physically.
