Diaper Genie?

Found out today my dog loves poopy diapers :/  So now I'm thinking Diaper Genie for when baby arrives. Thoughts/advice on this for first time mom?

It worked for us until baby started eating solids.

They don't keep the smell in. 😕 Would work to keep the dog out since it snaps shut. You will probably want to take the garbage out daily to keep away the stink.

I had it with baby 1...didn't work that great. We ended up just taking the trash out a lot. 
When you get ready to take out the diaper genie bag, GET READY! Holy he!! It smells soooo bad.

Ziplock bags work great. I use it them for poopy diapers and have never had a problem with smelly trash

My son is a year old and baby 2 is on the way and we still use it and plan on continuing!

I'm planning on getting one. I baby sit my nephew for my sister and she has one. As long as the lid is closed and you're pushing the diapers past the barrier you absolutely cannot smell anything in his room. However if the kid isn't closed properly or the diaper doesn't get pushed past the barrier then it'll stink of his room.

I didn't care for the diaper genie, however the arm & hammer one worked well - except that I forgot to change it once before we left for a trip and a week later when we came home we were met with an intense smell! LoL

What about the diaper genie with the carbon filters? Anyone have any experience with them? That's the one I have and haven't been able to use it yet (I'm 33.5)
