Drive husband to work or not?
Okay you may think by the title this is the wrong group, but it’s actually regarding our son who’s 1.5 and what I should do regarding him.
So my husband works Monday-Friday 5am-5pm and then Saturdays 5am-2pm and he works about a 50 minute drive away from where we live. With how little sleep he usually gets and the long drive twice a day, he’s sometimes concerned about being able to stay awake during the drive even with red bull, his music, etc. He’s mentioned me driving him to work before, not every day but at least sometimes if he’s really tired or Saturday’s since I don’t have to work myself (I work 8-4 only 10 minutes from home). My only concern with taking him to work is our son. I’d feel bad waking him up to get in the car at 4am and being in the car for basically 2 hours in the morning. My other option would be to get a video monitor and put it on him at home (we live with my mom and her husband, so he wouldn’t be home alone) and keep an eye on it from my phone and if he wakes up then call my mom to get him, or even give her the monitor for if he wakes up. I mean he doesn’t normally wake up between these times, but he sleeps in my bed so if he were to stir and notice I wasn’t there, he’d pop up. Has anyone ever had to take their baby/toddler on early morning drives like this? Anyone have advice? It’s killing me not being able to decide what to do! I just always feel sooo bad waking my son up before he’s up on his own, so that’s what’s keeping me from saying yeah I’ll drive him especially on days I wake up before he leaves anyway.
