I chose not to circumcised our son, now what?

Kari

I’m from Bulgaria and men don’t get circumcised there I also know how horrific the procedure is and have seen circumcised penises of young boys that had problems such as the skin attaching to the head and then they had to have a painful doctor visit so it can be corrected, leaving the little guy scared and scared to let anyone clean it. Btw I was a nanny for 16 years I didnt just go around looking at little boys penises lol just had to clarify before someone gets the world idea. So I chose not to do this to my son who is now 2 months old. So my question is for any moms that might have the experience, when do you start to pull the skin down. I was told by a doctor to do nothing at least for one year, then I read that the foreskin is connected to the head and in some cases takes up to five years to detach and be able to be pulled back, but my mother and the rest of my Bulgarian family is urging me to pull it back little by little after baths. I’m so conflicted, I wonder if this leave it as it is for as long as it needs to is a new finding, because I do know of some stories of moms who did pull it back early then stopped because they thought it was all good and the baby boys foreskin fused and had to be cut so the head can be exposed again. Can anyone with experience let me know how they went about this, I don’t know if there is moms with older kids here but I would love to hear from you :) I want to do what’s right for my boy and not cause him pain like a circumcision would have.
