How old was your baby when you first left her/him?

Hi Mamas, 
Our first wedding anniversary is this weekend and we were thinking about going to dinner. Our LO is going to be three weeks and her god mom offered to watch her. I feel so anxious leaving her 😢 is she too young? Should we wait to celebrate?

We left for about 45 minutes when my daughter was a week old to go buy me some leggings (my pregnancy leggings were too big but I wasn’t quite comfy in my normal ones yet). We left our daughter with my parents who’d been with her every day (and my dad is a pediatrician, so we felt pretty sure she was in good hands).
At a month old exactly we went to dinner at a very close restaurant and were gone probably an hour and a half. It was still so nice to get out. 
After that we felt more and more comfortable going on occasional date nights. 
Every year my husband takes a trip with his brothers and I take a trip with my sister. His was when she was about 4 months and for 2 night and mine was also 2 nights when she was 6 months. We spent our first night both away from her at about 8 months and then did a 5 year anniversary trip to Iceland for 6 nights when she was 10 months. So we progressively got more and more comfortable leaving her alone. 
At about 15 months we took another three night trip and left her with my husband’s parents instead of mine, so now we’re pretty comfy leaving her with either sets of grandparents. It’s scary at first, but for us, it’s important to remain who we are as a couple and not just be mommy and daddy all the time. We try to get some time alone at least a couple times a month and get away for a night or two at least once every 3 months, for romance and sanity’s sake. (Plus were still people too, who like to have fun)

With my first I did not like the idea of leaving my baby. I just took our 1.5 month old with us to our anniversary dinner he slept through the whole thing. I also EBF on demand and was unable to pump so that just worked for me. I think if I was able to pump or bottle fed then I may have left him sooner then 7 months for a few hours.

Definitely not too long to be apart for a couple hours. I'd hesitate doing an overnight thing but dinner should be perfectly fine!

I left my daughter 1 time for my 1 year anniversary for 2 hours with my mom... That said I called my mom every 20 minutes and was so anxious I had no fun. She was 3 months old at the time and I was a ftm. She hasn't been left since and is now 10 months old. I am due with her brother in September and dreading her having to be anywhere but with me or her dad.

I didn't leave my son with a baby sitter until he was 4 months old. But he had colic so I was just paranoid as many people can't handle that. And even when we did finally start using babysitters it was always my sister, my mom, or mother in law.
