Detailed Anatomy Scan -GD related?

28wks here. Just found out I have GD and they called to say I needed to have a detailed anatomy scan. I got confused because I told them I already had an anatomy scan at 19wksand then they said well doc ordered another. Anyone had same situation and it be explained why the need for another?

They just want to make sure the baby is OK.  I had GD was diet controlled and all my Dr's did was stress me out.  Had ultrasounds everyother week and the Dr's acted like I was dying. He turned out perfectly fine and was only 7.7 pounds.

I had to have another one, too. They did check for size, etc., buy also looked closely at the organs again. Poorly controlled GD can apparently lead to organ damage in the baby, too. But everything was fine.

I'll just be having a growth scan at 36 weeks.

I don’t know a lot about gestational diabetes. But I found out I was prediabetic in early pregnancy which the doctor said meant that I was prediabetic before I got pregnant. So I’m at a higher chance for gestational diabetes later on in pregnancy. But I know that if you have gestational diabetes you are more prone to have bigger babies. Maybe that’s possibly why?
