When did you all start dilating?

Question

Am 35 weeks and still cervix is closed. 
If I start later on, does it mean I will take longer to dilate when I go into labor? 
Also apparently I have some practice contractions, but I don't notice them.

i’m 37weeks and only at a 1 , but everyone is different some women are as far along as me and a 3-5 , and i don’t think how soon you dilate will determine how fast your labor will be , it all depends on when you’re real contractions start because they bring the lil baby down (FTM)

At my last appt at 37+3, I was 2cm dilated and 50% effaced. I’ve been having early labor signs too but I doubt she’ll make an early appearance.

with my first baby at 38w 3d I was checked and my cervix was completley closed and I wasnt thinning out at all.... the next day my water broke at 6am .  i was on in labor( including pushing for 2 and 1/2 hours) for 8 hours.

No it doesn't mean it'll take longer some people are completely closed up until they go into labour and then have 4 he labours whereas someone else could be 2 cm for weeks and still have a 12+ he labour 🤷🙈I'm getting checked next week hoping I'm dilated some so that it's less to dilate in labour but doesn't mean it'll be any quicker lol just reduces the time I'm in that pain for 😂

I got checked last night due to cramping. I’m 35w5d, I’m dilated to only .5 cm. FTM. They don’t plan to let me go to my due date, due to being high risk.

With my first my water broke at 34 weeks and 6 days and I was a five when I got to the hospital and a 10 am hour later, labor was 2 hours.  With my second I was a 2 from 27 weeks up until I went I to labor when I went in I was a 4 and la or was 4 hours. Right now I’ve been a 2 since 29 weeks, at 35 weeks I was 3cm 50 % effaced and as of yesterday I’m a loose 3cm and 80% effaced and my water is. Imaging a bit. I’m 36 and 2 right now. I have an IC and high risk for preterm so idk of that makes me dilated and have faster labors.
