So excited to donate my freezer stash!

Here is my story for those who are interested ☺️

I’ve been lucky enough to have a great production from the start. My milk came in after three days

Vengeance.

I remember sitting down to pee, being super sore from having my 9lb daughter naturally, pulled a muscle in my leg, and tore...and my boobs are just streaming milk down onto my legs. I do not miss those days haha

At first I would only pump to help relieve the engorgement. But it’s sooo tiring to do with a newborn so I stopped once my milk evened out at six weeks.

Starting at two months, I would pump in the morning for relief and at night to make sure my boobs were evenly empty. I also needed to build up a small stash since I had a four-day work trip scheduled later in the year. Slowly, it’s dwindled to pumping in the mornings and, depending on my water intake the day before, I get between 6 and 18oz.

About a month ago I decided it was time to donate. My daughter is fighting the bottle and my freezer was filled to the brim — as you can see from the picture. That’s about 650oz😅. The process started with a phone interview, followed by an online questionnaire, medical release forms for myself and my daughter (they need to confirm she is healthy enough for me to give my milk to someone else beside her), and a blood draw.

Yesterday I got my “acceptance letter” and made my first donation of 130.25oz!
