Normal range for white blood cell is between 4,500-10,000 white blood cells per mm3.

Last year I was at 4,400 at my physical, which was low but my doctor wasn’t concerned. She said being just below normal is common.

I had my blood work done yesterday and I am at 3,600 now. I have not had a viral infection or been on antibiotics recently, so that’s not the cause.

I am scared I have a bone marrow disease, or cancer or something.

Anyone experience this or know something about it? I am going back in 3 months to retest and see if the count goes up. That’s a long time to be worried. Researching online is stressful and the information is all over the place!
