Cultural appropriation

So on a lot of occasions I have seen people being accused of cultural appropriation by wearing their hair in boxed braids, dreads or cornrows etc. I mean I don’t really see how it is racist. Of course if you are making comments about your hairstyle in a racist way I get it. But why can’t white people (or any other race) wear their hair like this without being labelled racist? I don’t really think it’s fair. Thoughts? Am I missing something?

I don’t know if this is allowed. I am not trying to attack anyone by any means. I just want to discuss and learn more.
