So my son is now 3 weeks old. We’ve had him on similac pro advanced since he was born bc that’s what the hospital was giving him. Recently he had been spitting up a good bit after almost every feeding, sometimes thick mucusy spit up, sometimes just plain milk. A few times, it’s came out of his nose too. I’ve never seen a baby spit up as much as my son has been doing. Btw we’re only giving him 3 oz and he still acts hungry but I don’t want to give him more bc he spits up about 60-70% of it. We called the dr today and she said to switch it, to try Enfamil gentlease. So we did that today. He’s had 2 feedings so far with it and is still spitting up. My question is if this formula does good for him when will it get better? Just a minute ago we had him laying down and he spit up so bad he started to gag. I get scared to ever lay him down bc he does that a lot. what my question is when should I be concerned if the formula doesn’t work for him? Should I give it a day?

Also would like to add at his 2 week check up he had gained some weight. Which was good and why I didn’t want to switch the formula but the way he’s been spitting up and getting hungry from it I felt like it was best.
