Group B Strep Positive 😭

So I just got word that I tested positive for GBS and it is massively bumming me out. I already have GD, which I’ve been managing well, but it feels like I get every random ‘we don’t really know why but 1 in 5 pregnant women will have this’ thing.

I had planned on laboring at home as long as possible, but now they want me to go in immediately when things get started to be sure to get the 4 hours of IV antibiotics.

And I am really not excited about starting my baby’s life out on antibiotics, and killing off all her good microbiome with the possible bad, and giving us both an increased chance of hard to cure yeast infections.

I guess I’m just venting, since there doesn’t seem to be anything I can do about this. Did anyone have similar feelings after GBS test results? How did you deal? What was your outcome?
