Corporal Punishment
So me and my ex’s mom got into a debate over Corporal Punishment and whether I should use it on my son anyways here’s the last text I sent to her about the issue:
Also let me tell you that I’d only use it as a last resort. Like if my son ever did something extremely dangerous or was showing extreme disrespectfulness like spitting on a service men grave or burning the American flag etc then yeah I’d spank him, but I’d give him a good talking to too. So he’d know he’d cross a big boundary, but it also doesn’t mean it wouldn’t hurt me to as a parent emotionally to spank my child. In all honesty though I’m going to be using the time out chair a lot when he’s younger and talking to him a lot about right and wrong. Then when he gets older I’ll use privileges such as a cellphone, hanging out with friends, and or doing extra curricular activities to be the punishment if he fucks up. So hopefully if I start early on teaching him proper behavior without using corporal punishment then I should never ever have to use corporal punishment on him.
