Insurance- Rant
So I'm on a Medicaid plan through my state, I've been on it since I was 18 because I had a very low paying job that did not offer insurance. I plan on switching to a better insurance offered through work after maternity leave but for now I wouldn't be able to afford it.
I was told by my doctor that if I took childbirth education classes I would receive full compensation for them through my insurance, so I shelled out the $150 and really enjoyed my classes.
Today I called to get the money back and they told me that the branch of insurance I have covers nothing. I wouldn't be getting the breast pump or car seat I was promised. I'm almost 36 weeks. Why did no one tell me this sooner?
I ended up crying to the woman at my insurance company and we switched me to a better plan that would still be low cost but will cover more. I've had little faith in my OB and this really just set me off today.
Sorry I needed to vent.
