Real Contractions or Braxton Hicks Contractions?

FTM i don’t know if i’m really having contractions or if there braxton contractions.. I’m getting some pain on my upper belly and gets tight then i have sharp pains on pelvic area.. I’ve been walking around to see if it helps in case if they are contractions helps me go into labor

For me the real contractions feel like your ab muscles slowly ripping. Sounds graphic but to me the BH ones just felt like I had gas and real ones feel like my muscles being ripped and kinda period cramp  pain too!

Honestly, there’s no real way of knowing unless you track them. Braxton Hicks can be painful despite what people say. The closer I get the more painful they become. They won’t put you into labor though! You just have to time them and see if they get stronger and closer together. If you are having them every 6-7 minutes within the hour and they’re lasting more than a minute I’d call. 
I went to L&D last night because mine were so painful. They were charting well! But I wasn’t dilating any more and after passing out at home from exhaustion they dissipated mostly and I’m okay so far today 🤷🏻‍♀️

STM here and I honestly don’t feel like I remember a difference. My midwife said real labor the contractions get worse over time, vs BH they tend to slowly go away. That didn’t help me or make me feel better but it’s something to keep in mind.
