When should I start applying for jobs?

I was planning on going back to work on September however it isn't looking good for my current job. I want to apply elsewhere, I just don't know when I should start looking. If I was to apply in a month or so how long would an employer hold my job for?

Totally depends on the job and the employer. If you're the right person for the job and in it for the long haul I would imagine they would hold a job for you.
My current employer (civil servant, worked there 11 years...) I had the interview (2007!) was offered the job and then fell very sick. It took me 9 months to recover and they held the job for me.
Just depends. Put yourself out there, be honest and go for it x

I’ve just applied for a new job, however it’s very common in my industry to have a notice period of three months so it’s about the right timing 😊
