Anyone know if cystic acne is genetic?

My husband has cystic acne and we don’t want our son to get it because of what my husband was put through during school. Just curious if it is genetic?

I had cystic acne and my grandfather did. From what I have been told it skips a generation. My father never had any acne issues.

One of my clients who has cystic acne also has two kids that have cystic acne so I want to say genetics may play a role. But she has have been having great luck recently. All hope is not lost!

Yes it is genetic. There is a high chance your kid will have it but there’s also a chance they will have your skin. I’d just prepare and have your resources for when that time comes.
