Anxiety during pregnancy
I have really bad depression and anxiety. I've been on medication for both for 10+ years. My boyfriend and I are ready to start trying for a baby. My doctors have told me the medication I use for depression is ok to use while trying to conceive and during pregnancy. My anxiety medication is a whole different story. I'm prescribed klonopin to take as needed. I know klonopin is definitely not safe to use while trying to conceive or during pregnancy. I've been trying to use it less and less but I get these spells of anxiety where my chest feels so heavy and it just feels like a giant black cloud is blanketing itself over top of me. The klonopin gets me through these spells but I dont want to have to rely on it. I've tried trying to go to sleep or take a nap but it doesnt work. I try just breathing through it and watching TV or something to try to get my mind off of it but that doesnt help either.
Has anyone had a similar experience? How did you get through it? Any advice or ideas about how to get through these spells without relying on medication?
Help please. I'm feeling really desperate. I'm ready to be a mom but know I need to get this situation figured out first.
