How can I deal with my coworker better?
So, I work for a pizza place. We get super busy during our Rush's which usually last a 1-3 hours depending on the night. Tonight it lasted about an hour and a half.
The co-worker I'm having an issue with was the closer tonight. She panics when we have a rush no matter how big or small and refuses to accept help from anybody.
Tonight it was towards the end of rush and we only had one oven on as it was nearing 96° in the store. The AC has been going out constantly and hour higher ups don't care to replace it.
Anyways, she wants to turn the bottom oven on towards the end of rush. I see her reasoning to want to turn it on as we were waiting to load pizzas into the oven, but I knew rush was ending and told her we didn't need it.
She flips her shit, says she's done, and storms out back to smoke and call our GM to say he needs to find a new closer for the night.
Rush is over and she's fine.
We sent 3 items through the bottom I've before turning it off.
Later that night we had a driver who was asking for an out task. He wanted to help clean up before he left as the store was a huge mess.
The closing manager just told him he didn't need to do anything.
I told him he could sweep if he wanted to help out.
She flips out again and says to the driver "yeah listen to your new boss" talking about me and storms off.
I also tried to help her on how to properly do a certain sandwich and she threw a fit saying I was wrong.
I was taught how to make everything by the district manager himself. I just wanted to help her.
She's impossible to help because you can't tell her she's wrong. I've tried and there is not a single way to do it.
I genuinely don't know how to deal with this. I'm tired of it.. plus she has an issue with most of our drivers. It's just too much drama.
I want to add I'm 34 weeks pregnant and have roughly 6 weeks left at this place. I can deal with it until then but would really love to help her out instead of cause her to blow ip 🙃🙃
