Help.... confused...

Da

I went in for transvaginal ultrasound on Tuesday. I had no bleeding or complications before then. I should've been 6 weeks the day of ultrasound. The baby measured at 5 weeks 1 day, too early to get heartbeat.

When I got home I started bleeding. I bled only when I went pee. Never had any clots. I went back to doctor Wednesday and they tested HCG levels at 486, considered low for 6 weeks. Doctor said I'm more than likely miscarrying. I started cramping Wednesday night and went to ER Thursday afternoon, last night. They did another ultrasound but didn't see anything in the uterus. They also ran HCG levels and said they'd dropped a little from the day before. They noted that they saw fluid outside of the uterus and thought it might have been ectopic pregnancy. After showing them the fetus in the uterus from ultrasound picture taken on the Tuesday before they assumed it wasn't ectopic and I most have passed the baby already.

But last night I stopped bleeding. I continued having cramps so I returned to ER, this morning, where i am currently.. and they said my HCG levels have increased. They haven't doubled but are higher than the last 2 days. The ERc doctor said usually if the numbers are increasing that means the pregnancy could be viable... but why didn't they see anything in the uterus yesterday? He said other than that it could be ectopic.. if so, how did we see it in the uterus in the first place? I don't know what's going on... could I still be pregnant? Anyone have any similar experience??
