When my fiance and I got together I made it very clear that I did NOT want to reach my mid 30s before having a child (actually giving birth and holding my child in my arms) and he promised that I wouldn't have to wait long. So I'm now nearly 33 and we have been ttc for almost a year without success. Last night he just suddenly decided that we would stop trying and wouldn't start again until we have a MINIMUM of $5000 saved up. While I'm totally agreeable that we should have some money saved up before a child is born, I will NOT wait the length of time it would take us to save up 5 grand on our own! I was looking up was to raise money quickly and came across GoFundMe. At first I was like "Well I can't do that to raise money just to have a BABY!" but after looking through some of the other GoFundMes people have started I'm beginning to rethink that (I mean come on... Vacation? Saving a relationship? Spring break? Taking a girl on a hot date?!?). This is something that means EVERYTHING to me so why shouldn't I ask for some help when people out there are asking for date night money?!

My question is, should I create a GoFundMe to help me achieve my dream, or should I try to save up the money on my own and hope that resentment doesn't get the better of me before we've reached his goal?
