Bleeding like a faucet. Help!

katie

So I'm about 10 weeks. Me and my SO had sex and immidiantly after he noticed there was bright red blood all over him and the bed so when I stood up it just poored out like crazy! I've never bled like that so it absolutely scared the shit out of me! Has this happened to anyone? I'm not really crampy or anything just my normal discomfort! Called my Dr and the nurse said it was normal? I mean there was tons of blood just gushing out like crazy nothing about that seemed normal to me?!

I would go to the er, that does not sound normal. It could be something like a subchorionic hematoma, but you want to know if it is that.

Thank you all for commenting and helping me through this. I did go to the ER and got an ultrasound. Baby is still there and was kicking and waving at us had a great heartbeat everything looked good. They didn't tell me what the source of the bleeding was just that it's still a 50/50 chance I could still miscarry. Luckily the bleeding has slown down alot to just spotting I'm on bedrest and Dr said no more sex for awhile. Just laying around now and hoping for the best!

The area is very sensitive and full of blood during pregnancy....u should avoid intercourse or oral sex till the first trimester ends...when ur baby is stronger and risk of mc is lower coz it seems that u r very sensitiveI just had massive bleeding for few hours with one clot last weeks without pain or cramp.. baby was active and doing great during ultrasoundStay positive and try to relax

Of course its safe...but when u bleed directly after sex...u should be extra careful and u want to avoid the fear from seeing blood again...thats what my high risk doctor told me....it's always better to be safe !

I feel like I just have to put this out there- unless you have certain risks that you and your doctor have discussed, it is safe to have sex during your pregnancy (including the first trimester). So anyone who’s still getting it on, you’re fine.

If it is a hematoma, you need to be on pelvic rest.

I had this happen with my very first pregnancy. Unfortunately it didn’t end well. Please go get yourself checked. Spotting is normal, not standing up and gushing blood everywhere. Good luck momma

This exact situation happened to me at 11 weeks 6 days into my last pregnancy. I would ask for a ultrasound just to be safe.

That happened to me with my last pregnancy. If you're bleeding through a pad an hour, go to the hospital. If not, try to relax your body as much as possible. Your cervix is extra sensitive during pregnancy and sex can cause spotting/bleeding. I'm sorry, that's sooo scary!! I had two bleeding problems, one at 6 weeks and one really bad one at 13 weeks. But our baby was fine and is a perfectly healthy one yr old. I hope everything's alright!

Also don't have sex again until talking with your doctor. That's at least what they told me to do.
