Contractions?

Question

So I have been having intense menstral cramping that has taken my breathe away for the last hour avg 8 min apart. I still just feel like “is this it?!” So can anyone help me better understand what a “real” contraction feels like. Also have been losing my mucus plug all day and had pinkish blood while wiping after getting out the shower. 40+4 today too!
Update: I have been timing since 10:30pm and I think I am in denial should I head to hospital?

To me I know they are real when the pain is intense down low, in my cervix and almost I can feel it in my rectum. Also wrapping around my back.

Those are real contractions love! I would call doc and you're probablg close to meeting your baby. Mine were about that close together.

I would say those are contractions! With three pregnancies, I’ve never felt contractions in my back, but mine are always low and under my belly.
