I’m trans (ftm) pre t because of family issues normally I barely get my period but when I do get it sucks. Some people said when you get on t it stops but does anyone know for sure?

my fiancé is ftm. before T, he rarely had periods. after T, they stopped completely. mind you, every body is different. it all depends how you inject (sub q or im) and how much you inject and how your body reacts to it. it may be possible that you still spot the first few months. but eventually they should stop completely.

I’m not educated on this matter but people have mixed reactions to testosterone. Some people stop their periods almost immediately and some have their periods for a very long time. if you’re looking to stop your period soon then maybe you should think about birth control? The implant and hormonal iud can stop your period, as can the pill if you skip the placebo week. I know it may feel like a step in the wrong direction but if you’re finding your period difficult then maybe it’s something to consider until you can start testosterone and see how you react
