Help - fussy baby

Amy • UK 🇬🇧 Married 💍 Mummy to Emilie 👶🏻 Secondary Teacher 👩🏻‍🏫

So my daughter is 3 weeks old. Up until today she has been wonderful - been able to put herself to sleep, quite happy being left on her own in her crib, only making noise when she wants feeding or changing etc. Today however there’s no pleasing her, in the sense that whenever I try to put her down to sleep she cries. She will sleep on my chest but not in her crib. Am I making a rod for my own back here by picking her up? Will she start to associate the behaviour and cry to be picked up? Or is she too young for that? If so, what could be wrong with her all of the sudden?

Sorry for all the questions just I’m a first time mum and want to do this right.
