EBF and period comes and goes?!?

Hello ladies,

I gave birth in January and inspite of EBF my son, my period returned at the 6wk checkup. I gather that it has something to do with how efficient of an eater he is, as feeds would be 15-20 minutes tops (vs. 45-60mins with my daughter as a newborn). He was still feeding every 2-3 hours and one 4hr stretch overnight.

Since that initial period in February, I've had my period again in March and April at about the standard 28 day cycle. My last period in April was 10 days (vs. The usual 5)...and since then nada.

So now, I'm sitting here at 38days since my last period and worried that I might be pregnant. I'm going to do the test tomorrow morning, but wondering whether this has happened to anyone before where you're EBF and your period comes and then disappears again without you being pregnant. The chances are so slim since we used protection and only did the deed twice....but it's still possible. I don't know what to think!

Update: At cycle day 40 today and ran out at 6am to buy a test. It was negative...and 6hrs later AF arrived. Phew!
