How can I remove blood stains from underwear?

I’m only 13, and this is like my 5th period or so. My past periods have been generally light and not heavy enough to stain my underwear, but this month my uterus gave up on that. My mum isn’t really open about this stuff and I don’t really know how to clean clothes at all.

The key is to pretreat and use only cold water. Heat will set the stain. 
I usually soak in cold water for 30 minutes before putting stained underwear in the washing machine. Then add a bit of detergent directly to the stain. Wash in cold water. Then when the washing machine is done, check to see that the stain is gone. If it is, then you can put them in the dryer. If it’s still stained, then do not put them in the dryer as heat will set that stain. Instead let them air dry and then try again the next time you have a load of laundry. Try a longer presoak or hydrogen peroxide and then repeat the washing procedure. 
Again only dry in a dryer when the stain is gone, or it’s faded to the point that you decide to give up and relegate that pair to “period underwear.”
