Do you think it's important to have sex on your honeymoon? Is that a key purpose of it?

Would it be a little weird to not have sex? Maybe lol. I couldn't imagine not wanting to have sex with the person you just married. But I don't think it's so important that it's a must or what the honeymoon is about.

I couldn’t imagine not wanting to have sex on my honeymoon. I think it’s a huge bonding time, and that bonding includes sex.

I was too mad at my husband for planning a honeymoon and surprising me with it when we couldn't afford one 🤷🏼‍♀️ it also rained all weekend, so we couldn't go out and do anything he had planned for us to do, so he was stuck inside with my grumpy ass for three days 😂 I think culturally, there's too much pressure on couples to have sex on their honeymoon. ESPECIALLY if it's the couple's first time - whether in general, or just together. Sometimes things don't work out; sometimes you end up sleeping more than you're awake. There are thousands of couples that have sexless relationships for a variety of reasons - age, disability, identity, anatomy, mental health, trauma, etc. - their relationships are just as valid as anyone else's, and there's dozens of ways to be "intimate" with your partner without having sex.

Not a key purpose. My husband and I waited until we got married to have sex. I was too sore from our wedding night to have sex in our honeymoon.

My husband and I didn’t have a honeymoon (we had other things we wanted to use that money for) but did have sex on our wedding night. I also have friends who have gotten married, the vast majority of whom did not have sex on their wedding night. I think people put too much pressure on wedding night/honeymoon sex. My husband and I didn’t plan it or force it, it just kind of happened when we got home and he helped me out of my wedding dress and get all the Bobby pins out of my hair hahaha. We still had plans that night to go hang out with family again so sex wasn’t on the radar. More stress relief than anything. If you and your spouse feel up for it, get some! If not, get some sleep haha. You have all the time in the world after you are married to be intimate. Don’t feel like it’s a requirement on the honeymoon :)

I always thought that was the purpose of your honeymoon. Personally it is not that important. Unfortunately I was on my period during our honeymoon. My husband and I bonded together by doing different activities on our honeymoon. We played mini golf, big version of Yahtzee, trivia, comedy clubs, and etc.

I think the key purpose of the honeymoon is to relax after the wedding, (usually it is very stressful with all the planning, etc. I know mine was), bonding with your new spouse, getting more comfortable with each other, and getting to know each other better. Usually it does involve sex, but it doesn’t have to. If you think you might not want to have sex on your honeymoon, you need to talk with your SO, and both of you will need to be open about your expectations.

I personally do. It seems incredibly odd not to want to have sex with the person you just married unless it's an arranged marriage.
