Babies that sleep through the night

Sarah

So i have a question for the moms with little ones that sleep 6+ hour streches. Does your baby sleep the solid 6 hours or do they wake up and fuss and fall back asleep? And do your little ones nap during the day, if so, how is the nap schedule?

Thanks for all the responses ladies. My baby will typically go down for the night at 8:30. I wake him for a dream feed at 10pm. He will then wake up to nurse at 2am and go back down, then he gets up at 5am to nurse again and will go back down until 8am. I just cant seem to get him to sleep a solid strech without waking to nurse. Dad gives him a bath everynight before bed at 8 so there is a bed time routine. And during the day he goes in 3 hour windows of eat play sleep. The only thing i cannot try is putting him in his own room, its currently not a possibility.

My 9 week old sleeps 8-10 hours straight, wakes for a diaper change and food, then goes back down for 2-3 hours. Some nights he’ll wake and play for a bit (mainly suck on his hands through his love to dream swaddle) then go back to sleep, other nights I don’t hear a peep out of him the whole time. Daytime naps are completely unpredictable! He takes between 3 and 5 depending on the day and they last anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours. As someone else said, as long as he keeps sleeping well at night I’m not going to worry about the daytime naps for another couples weeks!

Mine has been sleeping 8-10 hours a night and sometimes he fusses and goes back to sleep. Naps are pretty nonexistent now. They are either 30 min or nodding off on the breast.

My little boy sleeps 9 hours every night. He doesn’t wake up at all throughout the night. He has his last bottle about 10pm and will wake at 7am have a bottle and go back to sleep till about 9am. He does nap during the day, but not for long. If we stay in the house he may sleep for the longest half an hour. But if I take him out in the pram it sends him right off to sleep and he can sleep for maybe 2-3 hours. It all depends though, his naps change daily but he always sleeps right through the night, which is great 😂

My daughter naps during the day whenever she’s tired. Sometimes once in the day when she’s fussy & other times she takes 20-30 minute naps maybe 3 times.I take her a bath around 8pm or 8:30pm, bottle at 8:30 or 9 depending on the bath. She will sleep 7 hours straight wake up change her another bottle & 3 or 4 more hours. It’s not always right on time, we make room for interruptions. I don’t wake her up from day naps, I let her tell me when she’s hungry etc. She doesn’t poop in her sleep so sometimes she’ll be up from a deep sleep just for that lol. Winging it, mom life.

Mine sleeps 8-9 hours at night straight through. And then wakes to eat a little bit and then sleeps for another hour or so

My baby sleeps on average 10 hours. He will wake a couple of times and roll around. Not really cry, just wants his pacifier replaced i think and he goes back to sleep. He’ll take about three naps a day. Usually from 2-3 hours. Sometimes shorter, and if that happens we just move his bed time up a little.

Mine has been waking up and crying briefly. I usually wait a minute or two to see if he's really crying or just sleep crying. And sometimes he goes back to sleep on his own or he'll need a pacifier put back in his mouth.

My baby sleeps next to me and she will fuss like 4 times in the night but I just give her the boob and go back to sleep. She has been napping once during the day for 3-4 hours

I hear him grunting throughout the night, and the occasional squawk. But he never fussed for more then 30 seconds if he’s going to fall back asleep. Daytime naps have been a challenge, he pretty much only has long naps in the car seat and short cat naps while nursing. I’m waiting until he’s 12 weeks to really start pushing the crib daytime sleeping. When I swaddle him and put him in the crib during the day he cries but at night he doesn’t 🤷‍♀️At night he goes down between 8 and 8:30, wakes up between 1:30 and 3, eats for half an hour and goes back down, and usually wakes up some time between 8:30 and 9 am. So I’m not going to complain about the daytime naps! My advise would be to put him in his own room in the crib (my baby slept terribly in our room and so did we!), swaddle, and use a white noise sound machine. Works wonders for my little guy!

My LO is 10 weeks on Thursday and has been sleeping 6-9 hour stretches since about 4 weeks (I know, I know...I’m sorry 😬). If she wakes up and fusses during the night, I don’t hear it on the monitor 🤷🏻‍♀️ She takes about 5 naps/day, but they’re only 30 minutes at a time. By the end of the day she’s definitely overtired and ready for bed though.
