Bc pill, took it a few hours late?

I know this may be a question asked by multiple women on here but I wanted some more insight as to how the pill works as well. 
I have been on the pill almost two years now. However, it still fascinates me and confuses me on how a pill can stop me from being pregnant? Anyways, my boyfriend and I have unprotected sex and he usually always finishes inside of me. However we are confident in the pill since I take it on time or no more than an hour late. However, today instead of taking my pill at 1:00 I took it at 3:00. My bf and I just had sex and he finished inside of me... should I be concerned about pregnancy? I’m on my second week of the pills for this pack (if that means anything)

First of all, it is still a bit of a black box to scientists. Here is what we know:
The pill raises the hormone levels in your body to the point here the hormones prevents an egg from being released. And this is the prime way birth control hormones prevent pregnancies.
When you get to the placebo pills of the pill week, they have no hormones. The drop in the hormones in your body causes an effect called withdrawal bleeding. This is a purely artificial period, with no medical benefit, except knowing that you are not pregnant and giving you the allusion that you have a natural cycle.
When you are on a mini-pill, it is very sensitive to taking it late because of the very low hormones in it. You only have about an hour and a bit grace. Other pills are much more tolerant to taking them late. You will lose only a slight bit of protection as long as you do not take them more than 24 hours late. And even at the 24 hour mark, you must take the missed pill and the next pill. So it is not just important to take the missed pill, but also to take the next pill on time.
Because the pill overrides you natural cycle, your cervical mucus will be unfriendly to sperm, and your uterus lining will be thin, even further reducing the chances of fertilization and implantation.
It is important to know that every day after puberty, about 15 of your eggs start to mature. About 90 days later, all 15 eggs will die inside the follicle, except the one day you ovulate and a single egg will be released. So when you miss pills, one of these eggs that would have died, may get released because of the change in hormones due to the missed pills.
These 15 eggs dying every day is one of the reasons why your fertility declines rapidly from your late 20’s until most women are parasitically infertile or will take very long to conceive in their early 40’s.
