Anyone ever given birth at Naval Hospital Jacksonville FL?

I’m stationed overseas(GUAM) and trying to go back home to have the baby. They said I have to give birth at a military hospital and that’s the only one close to family. Just looking for some experiences there.

I did! It was 6 years ago now, but it was a good experience. The hospital itself is small compared to civilian hospitals. 
I don’t have any real complaints other than I find military health care to be aggravating as a whole. I wanted a lot less people in/out and I felt like they were in my room every hour day and night. I also felt like the corpsman tended to be inexperienced. A lot of them seemed like they were ‘put’ there, not like they had a desire to do OB. I’m not sure if it’s changed either, but I delivered on a Sunday and they didn’t have any food (the cafeteria is closed Sunday’s). My husband had to go on base to find me dinner. Other than that it was a good experience. 
I’ve since had my second at a civilian hospital in Jax and I definitely prefer it. It’s a much larger hospital with a great reputation. They are very progressive in their care and definitely are all about OB. I’ll be having my third there this fall. I have zero complaints. 
If you have any choice in the matter, try for a civilian hospital if you can. If not NAS JAX is definitely a good option. Lots of spouses deliver there and have great experiences. I’ve actually never heard of a truly negative one. 
Also, not sure how familiar you are with JAX but there is a huge children’s hospital here (wolfsons) which is great as a “just in case”. Also, NAS JAX has the Navy Lodge and cabins you can reserve, which are just adjacent to the hospital. Plus the commissary and exchange are brand new and massive so you/family won’t need to go far for any necessities. You’ll be quite comfortable to stay on base once you’re all aboard. There is plenty to do/see.

Haven’t given birth their but when you are there ask if they have a WiFi monitor, it’s basically the size of a battery pack that they stick to your stomach instead of being hooked up to a bunch of machines. It was soooooo nice being able to move freely and how I wanted with out having to constantly fight cables and a giant cart.
