My hospital does this and an hour of mommy baby skin to skin. I love this bc it didn't happen with my first.

Our hospital is certified baby friendly so this is done automatically unless we decide to donate the placenta blood.

My midwives wait until the cord stops pulsing unless there is a medical reason to cut it before. It’s becoming common practice a lot of places

That was the plan but sadly baby came early so they cut the cord right away to check him to make sure he was ok. Didn’t get skin to skin for a good hr
