Should I Start Fertility Specialists?

Question

Need advice. TTC for 4 months now with no success. I'll b 35 in Aug. i've been off the pill for over a year. my cycles were 25 days. I started seed cycling for 1 month. Last 2 periods are now every 27 days. Ive been doing, BBT, OPKs, checking my CM, exercise regularly, eating more organic foods, taking prenatal vitamins daily, fish oil, coconut oil, vitamin c, green vibrance shakes daily, increasing my water intake, yoga, meditation, and still fucking AF shows up! Im tired of the disappointment with all this hard work...
-Should I go see a fertility specialist? 
-Do i have to go see my Gyno first? -Can my Gyno check me out instead for fertility issues? 
-Does insurance cover any fertility related visits? 
-Does any1 know what they will put me on medication wise?
-I know that 35 yr old rule. So should I lie and say ive been trying for 6 months or 1 yr without success to bypass all of the waiting? 
-Does any1 have tips of wat to ask or say when going to their gyno/fertility specialist?

4 months is not a worrisome amount of time, but feel free to see a fertility dr if you’re concerned or tired of waiting. 
You can go to an OBGyn to run basic blood tests to check your FSH, AMH, Estradiol, etc. Your OB can also order an HSG test for you, a sperm analysis for your husband, and prescribe Clomid. For more extensive tests and more treatment, however, you’ll have to go to a fertility clinic to see a specialist. 
At 35, most fertility clinics will want you to do extensive testing, including a whole blood panel and a mammogram to completely rule out the risk of cancer before prescribing hormones which could have an adverse affect on any existing conditions. My fertility clinic also requires a Pap smear, an annual physical, and extensive STD tests, which need to be updated every 6 months. 
So far I’ve done all of my tests through my regular doctors office and released the records to my fertility clinic because my insurance plan doesn’t have fertility coverage, but it covers everything done with my regular doctor. In order to know if you have fertility coverage on your insurance plan you’ll need to call your insurance and you’ll need to talk to the fertility clinic because different fertility clinics and doctors accept different insurance. The only tests I’ve actually done at my fertility drs office so far are the CD 3 hormonal blood tests and the antral follicle ultrasound, which cost us around $1000 out of pocket. My next tests will include Receptiva and possibly a laparoscopy.  
Typically a fertility clinic will start with hormonal treatment, like Clomid or Letrozole, if you have “unexplained infertility”. If that doesn’t work, they can try IUI then IVF as a last resort. 
Also, my fertility dr suggested acupuncture as a good first step so I’m going once a week to an acupuncturist who specializes in fertility. She also suggested Inositol, CoQ10, fish oil or cod liver oil and prenatal vitamins. I’m also taking evening primrose oil and a probiotic. She suggested a supplement for my husband which includes vitamin c, CoQ10, folate, zinc, L-carnitine, and vitamin d. He’s also taking a probiotic. If you have any specific questions let me know because I’m going through all of this right now.

I would say see your Ob first she will run test then if you need she will refer a specialist 4 months isn’t long at all I wait 2 years after my miscarriage and I’m pregnant now it will happen when you least expect

Go to your pcp now, have them fun blood work. Fertility blood work is best cd 3. Your gyno may or may not help until your at the 6month mark of ttc, even though technically you could say a year because that’s when you came off bc. 
My blood work came back with hypothyroidism and we got referred to a fertility specialist soon after. For us it was actually male factor. Your SOs pcp can do a sperm analysis too

Similar situation here - I saw a fertility specialist 4 months after trying despite my gyn's recommendation to wait up to a year before going this route. Best decision I ever made. After doing the usual fertility work-up (AMH, FSH, HSG, SIS, etc.), the doctor found scar tissue in my uterus and a bit of scar tissue on my left fallipoian tube which he feels was causing my infertility. I actually had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy procedure completed today to remove the scar tissue. My doctor said that the procedure was successful and that I can TTC during my next cycle. I have a follow-up appt. with the doc in 2 weeks, so fingers crossed I heal up well and that this plan is still in effect. I'm in a bit of pain due to the gas inserted in my abdominal area during the procedure, but other than that, all is well. It's honestly mind-blogging that women on here wait soooo long to see a fertility doctor; if you have health insurance that covers (or partially covers) these sort of visits, I beg that you do not delay this visit...the sooner you know about your condition, the better! So excited about getting closer to having my baby!!! Hoping for a postive soon! Baby dust to all!!
