Getting pregnant

Hi I'm new and I'm not completely sure how this all works. I've been off my birth control for 3 months now. And my period has been late by a few days each month. My last period was only 2 days long. I want to get pregnant but st the same time im scared. Does anyone have any tips or anything that may be helpful to me. Thank you
