I think they should be able to choose themselves when they get older. I know it doesn’t seem like a big deal but what we teach our young girls about their bodies is very important. If they learn that their bodies are not theirs and they have no say in what happens to it then how do we expect them to stand up for themselves in abusive situations? I chose to never get my ears pierced and I’m glad my mum didn’t force them on me when I was a baby. I got to choose and that’s important to me. Just like we should never force our kids to hug or kiss people if they don’t want to. Consent is important. Body autonomy is important.

I'm so torn. My husband wants to wait until she can decide but I reallllly want to have them done before that because I think it's cute.. I'll probably land up waiting so I don't upset my husband.
