My gums hurt :(

Is this a pregnancy thing ? All of a sudden my upper mouth on the ride side gums started hurting after i ate ice cream. After that they have been hurting all day. Has anyone else had this during early pregnancy or do i just need a cleaning ? :( im in so much pain. I can take tyelnol right ?
