Ibuprofen for a day per MD?

I’ve had a headache pretty constantly on the left side for about 2 weeks, OB prescribed me 600mg ibuprofen twice just for one day but I’m unsure about taking it. Anyone else been prescribed this?

I didn’t think ibuprofen was safe. I’ve always been told Tylenol when pregnant.

If your doctor prescribed it to you than that’s all the confirmation you need.

I dont know why the dr would prescribe that... I would not take it. Tylonal 3 with codeine is ok, I'd ask for that

I’m a labor and delivery nurse.  We give ibuprofen 600mg during pregnancy.  Just not after 32 weeks.  It is actually safe.

I think Ibuprofen is mainly an issue if you take it for longer periods of time (like throughout the whole pregnancy). If your doctor prescribed it I'm sure the risk to your baby is not high. For example, you aren't technically supposed to take aspirin during pregnancy but there are a lot of us that are prescribed it in low doses because the benefits outweigh the risks overall.
