Teething at 3 months?

How can you tell if baby is teething? It seems too early to be teething but he’s been fussy lately and trying to chew on hands toys etc (this is even after being fed so I know it’s not hunger)

My pediatrician defines this period as “oral fixation” where babies become interested in their hands, and producing more spit etc. it doesn’t correlate at all with teething apparently that’s a common misconception. That’s not to say some babies don’t start teething this early! But my daughter went through this at this age and didn’t cut a tooth until 11 mos.

My baby is doing the same thing. I keep thinking that she’s teething or going through a growth spurt. I can’t figure it out.

My son has also reached the stage of putting things in mouth/ drooling etc but i also think he’s had bouts of teething.the difference I’ve found is he will have a period of two days when he gnaws on my finger and cries, he’s more fussy, nothing can soothe him etc. Using dentinox and cold teething rings help and once I resorted to calpol which worked showing he was definitely in discomfort. 
He also got really pink cheeks and had slightly more runny poo.

Mine is 2 almost 3 months is definitely teething. You can see his teeth coming in. It started off fussy, eating his hands and biting my nipples

Same here! He’s 11 weeks and I feel like he’s teething because he also has a lot of drool and constantly chewing on his hands

Mine is doing the same with and also has a lot more drool when he never drooled before. We felt his gums and you can feel some small bumps.
