I have really bad cramps right now

I’m 16 years old and in December 2017 I started getting cramps when I wasn’t on my cycle and had irregular periods and got put onto birth control. Ever since then my cramps have been continuing to hurt a lot everyday and I’m not quite sure why? I’m pretty sure my hormones are all over the place, but what could be wrong?
