Old High School Boyfriend

So I just reconnected with my old high school boyfriend a few weeks ago...we are both 29 now, he got divorced last year and I divorced about 5 years ago. Anyways...I have only been in one other relationship since my divorce and I feel so stupid because I don't know the ins and outs of adult dating...I have 2 little boys, one is 6 years old (from my marriage) and a 20 month old ( from the only other relationship) I have now started having feeling for my high school ex, but I dont know how he feels, we talk everyday all day, have hung out a few times, but I haven't brought him around the boys. We have slept together this past weekend, but I'm not sure if hes just looking for a fuck buddy, or just a friend or is looking for a relationship. I asked him what his future plans are, and he said to buy a home ( he just got home from the military) hopefully settle down with someone and have kids he has always wanted kids. I just dont know when the right time is to ask that question, or even if I should ask that..but I don't want to develop more feelings for someone who just wants to be friends, and I don't want to take time away from my boys or bring someone into our lives, if the other person doesnt have feelings or doesn't see me in that way.
